Wanda Whigham’s practice concentrates on project and international finance, with a particular emphasis on the acquisition, development, and financing of energy projects in the United States. Wanda’s experience includes equity and asset acquisitions; the formation and operation of joint ventures; the development and construction of energy generation facilities, including simple and combined cycle natural gas-fired facilities; and renewable energy facilities.
Wanda’s practice also focuses on public and corporate finance, representing clients in connection with a wide range of tax-exempt and structured financings. She has served as bond counsel and disclosure counsel to municipal issuers in connection with revenue based and general obligation bond financings. Additionally, she has represented major investment banking institutions in their public finance activities. Wanda has also represented corporate clients in connection with private placements and other equity financings.
Wanda’s experience in project development and her work with municipalities enabled her to assist in the successful negotiation of public-private partnerships on behalf of two prominent biomedical research institutions for the development of biomedical research facilities in Palm Beach and St. Lucie Counties.
Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson, Wanda was associated with a prominent Miami-based international law firm where she was a member of the project development and finance group and the corporate and securities group.
