Hogan & Hartson is the only national law firm with a legal practice dedicated to the success of America’s elementary and secondary schools and the students who attend them. Our education group includes those who have taught school, served in educational administration, and helped shape education policy.

We advise clients providing K-12 education on the full scope of legal challenges they face, including the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001; other regulatory compliance concerns; and matters involving civil rights, litigation, labor and employment, funding and privacy. We assist K-12 educators with the most sensitive and controversial challenges they face, which often are accompanied by political as well as educational ramifications. We understand that a constructive legal solution must address the perspectives of all constituencies involved.

We provide guidance on emerging case law, statutes, regulations, and legislation. We develop creative solutions that take into account the different needs of large urban school districts, small districts, suburban districts, and independent schools. We advise clients concerning new structures for providing education services. We work with our clients’ in-house and outside counsel to bring a national perspective to local matters in an efficient, cost effective manner. Our industry experience offers us a deep understanding of our clients’ issues. We listen closely to their needs. We develop solutions to meet client goals.
