Danielle M. Drissel

Danielle Drissel’s practice focuses on health care issues, with an emphasis on fraud and abuse law and regulatory compliance. She assists health care providers, pharmaceutical and device manufacturers, and health care technology companies on potential fraud and abuse or other regulatory concerns, including anti-kickback, false claims, physician self-referral issues and compliance with marketing and price disclosure requirements. She frequently assists with the implementation and review of corporate compliance programs. In addition, Danielle advises health care clearinghouses, e-health organizations, health care providers, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, health plans, and health care trade associations on health information technology issues, including electronic data interchange (EDI) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson, Danielle served as a legislative assistant to a congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives where she addressed legislative issues before the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee. She has also worked as a legislative aide to a U.S. senator and as a legislative fellow for the U.S. Senate Committee on Labor, Health, and Human Resources. Her published works prior to joing the firm include "Massachusetts Prison Mental Health Services: History, Policy and Recommendations," 87 MASS. L. REV. 106 (2003).
