Overview | H&H Academy | Associate Professional Development

Hogan & Hartson is deeply committed to the training, professional development, and mentoring of each of our lawyers, including our associates. While much of this occurs as a natural part of our day-to-day work and interactions, the firm recognizes that formal training and focused development programs are important to the professional growth of our lawyers.

In 2000 the firm established the H&H Academy with the goal of providing training opportunities to firm lawyers at all levels. The H&H Academy curriculum covers substantive areas of law, core legal skills, business development skills, practice management, ethics and professionalism, and a wide range of other topics of interest to legal practitioners. In addition, the Academy has established a Distinguished Speakers series of lectures from notable legal professionals.

The firm also has implemented a formal Associate Professional Development and Mentoring Program. Under this program, each associate prepares an annual professional development plan with the help of a partner or counsel mentor and practice-specific written materials. The program is intended to help associates think strategically about their career goals and to identify concrete steps they can take to reach those goals.

Take a Closer Look

Hogan's game plan is to ensure each member of its team is thoroughly prepared to hit the court. One partner devotes all of her time to the H&H Academy, and many partners and associates help plan and execute numerous excellent in-firm programs annually.
